Vinifera Vineyards Niveus 2007 Napa Valley
Tuck Beckstoffer started this project in 2004, working with Michael Greenlee as GM and Rob Lawson as consulting winemaker. Niveus, a blend of sauvignon blanc and semillon, grows at the Blockhouse Vineyard in Oakville on a hillside east of Highway 29. It carries substantial fruit complexity, with layers of pear, lime and wildflower honey. That fruit remains at the forefront of flavor while oak and alcohol add a structural line. A fresh and salty white for seared diver scallops, this is also well worth cellaring for two to three year. (350 cases) Vinifera Vineyards, Oakville, CA”

Vinifera Vineyards Vitis 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Here’s a young, vital, impressive, 100% Cabernet. It’s dry, full bodied, and rich in classic flavors blackberries, black currants, graphite and minerals, wrapped into silky tannins. Superb oak integration lends notes of vanilla and sandalwood. Just gorgeous in the mouth, filled with class and elegance. Now-2014, at least. Editors’ Choice.
